J. Schweitzer, NORSAR
In June 2002, NORSAR signed a
contract with the European Commission for the support of research visits to
NORSAR during the next 28 months for a total of 36 “user months” under the EC
programme “Transnational Access to Research Infrastructure”, which is part of
the “Human Potential” programme.
NORSAR, today one of the world’s
largest seismological observatories, is an independent foundation, that
conducts research, development and consulting within various fields of
seismology and applied geophysics, as well as on seismological problems
relevant to the detection and identification of earthquakes and underground
nuclear explosions.
NORSAR, located approximately
25 km northeast of
NORSAR. The duration of
the research visit should not exceed three months and NORSAR will accept the
first visitors already in the autumn of 2002. The programme will run until the
end of September 2004.
