Invitation to the 9th European Meeting of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics

 

The Czech Association of Applied Geophysicists looks forward to welcoming the newly created Near Surface Geoscience Division of the European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE) to the 9th European Meeting of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics. EAGE's Near Surface Geoscience Division is the successor of the Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society - European Section (EEGS-ES) and is ready to continue the tradition of its annual meetings.

 

The 9th Annual Meeting is organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Charles University in Prague and the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineerig, Czech Technical University in Prague and with support of the Department of Applied Geophysics, Charles University in Prague.

 

The organizers invite you to the conference that will be both interesting and rewarding to all those working in the field or using the results of near surface geophysics.

 

Czech Association of Applied Geophysicists

 

Czech Association of Applied Geophysicists is a professional organisation of Czech geophysicists. It was founded in 1992 and has more than 130 members. It associates professionals from geophysical companies, universities and academic institutes. Its main activities are focused on professional rules and education.

 

Charles University in Prague

 

Charles University - the oldest one in the Central Europe - has been founded by Charles IV, the King of Bohemia and the Holy Roman Emperor, on April 7, 1348. The original faculties were: Theological Faculty, Medical Faculty, Faculty of Laws and Faculty of Arts. Natural Sciences were originally studied at the Faculty of Arts, later on at the Philosophical Faculty. The Faculty of Science was founded first in 1920 and courses in Applied Geophysics started in 1952.
